Do you ever have that feeling where you’re just so curious about something and you can’t get it out of your mind? That’s how I felt about ice science. I had seen documentaries about the Earth’s poles and the research scientists do there, but I wanted to know more about what happens in the lab. What are the challenges they face? What kind of experiments do they conduct? And what does all this mean for our planet? So I decided to do some research and find out. Turns out, ice science is a lot more complicated than I thought! But it’s also hugely important, because understanding how ice behaves is giving us clues about how our climate is changing. In this post, I’ll share some of what I learned.
