Antarctic Climate & Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre

The Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems CRC is Australia's primary vehicle for understanding the role of the Antarctic region in the global climate system, and the implications for marine ecosystems. Our purpose is to provide governments and industry with accurate, timely and actionable information on climate change and its likely impacts.

Australian Antarctic Division

The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) is a division of the Australian Government Department of the Environment. The AAD is responsible for delivering Outcome 3 of the Department's Strategic Plan 2013–2017, “Advancement of Australia’s strategic, scientific, environmental and economic interests in the Antarctic by protecting administering and researching the region”.

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) is an inter-disciplinary committee of the International Council for Science (ICSU). SCAR is charged with initiating, developing and coordinating high quality international scientific research in the Antarctic region (including the Southern Ocean), and on the role of the Antarctic region in the Earth system. The scientific business of SCAR is conducted by its Standing Scientific Groups which represent the scientific disciplines active in Antarctic research and report to SCAR.

CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere
The CSIRO is  Australia’s national science agency.  Its Oceans and Atmosphere division provides knowledge to manage Australia's marine areas and atmospheric environment.

Founded in 1970, Helicopter Resources is one of Australia’s longest established helicopter companies, operating a helicopter fleet throughout Australia and many parts of the world including Antarctica.

Thermo Fisher is a United States-based company providing laboratory equipment, chemicals, supplies and services used in healthcare, scientific research, safety, and education.

The Tasmanian Polar Network (the TPN) is a group of businesses and scientific organisations based in Tasmania Australia, all with a common focus on serving commercial and scientific activity in the Antarctic, sub-Antarctic and Southern Ocean.

The TPN is supported by the Tasmanian State Government through Antarctic Tasmania in the Department of State Growth.

The organisations that make up the TPN are all uniquely positioned through their geographical location, expertise and resources to serve the broadest possible range of activities in the region. We are based in Australia's most southern city - Hobart, and enjoy one of the world's deepest and best served commercial ports.

PAGES (Past Global Changes) supports research which aims to understand the Earth’s past environment in order to obtain better predictions of future climate and environment, and inform strategies for sustainability. We encourage international and interdisciplinary collaborations and seek to promote the involvement of scientists from developing countries in the global paleo-community discourse.
